Voet van Afrika, Bredasdorp

Voet van Afrika belonged to Nedbank Running Club SWD, with Lloyd Bosman and Carla Spangenberg both winning the marathon and both breaking the course record. Bosman took the men's 42.2km in a course-record 2:28:31, more than 16 minutes clear of the runner-up. Spangenberg was just as dominant in the women's race, setting a new course record of 3:12:54 to win by over 11 minutes.

The rest of the SWD squad kept the podium count climbing. Francois Maquassa was 2nd in the 27km Trail Run in 2:01:54, and Selwyn Matthews and Wayne April made it a Nedbank one-two in the 13.5km Trail, finishing in 56:32 and 57:14. Austin Koopman was 2nd in the 10km in 32:50, and Bruce Maboza was 7th in the 21km in 1:14:41.

Kwagga 10km, George

Kezia Matthysen won the women's race in 41:28, with Cindy Viljoen 3rd, and Annatjie Botes took 1st Grand Master in 45:42. In the men's race, Luciano Squire was 4th overall and the first junior home in 32:01.

Voet van Afrika, Bredasdorp

Mxolisi Sibiya ran a strong 42.2km to finish 5th in the men's race in 2:57:28, which also earned him 3rd place in the M20-39 category, while Johan Oerson was 3rd in the 27km Trail Run in 2:15:26. Michael Maruza added 2nd in the M50-59 category over 21km in 1:29:42, while Petra Oerson was 4th in the women's 13.5km Trail in 1:21:29.

Chapman's Peak 21km

Maretha Smit led the ladies home with 2nd in the Open Women's race in 1:25:37, and Elmé Middlemost and Tanya Posthumus-Fox took 2nd and 3rd in the W40-49 category in 1:33:38 and 1:34:23. That strength in depth earned the Ladies' Team Prize for Maretha Smit, Elmé Middlemost, Tanya Posthumus-Fox and Anneline Roffey.

WPA Non-Standard Track & Field, Atlantis

Jacques Mouton showed good form on the track in Atlantis, taking gold in the Senior Men's 800m in 2:21.94. He backed it up with a strong run in the 1500m, adding a bronze medal in 4:55.36 to round off a productive day.

Exxaro Road Race Challenge, Centurion

Namakoe Nkhasi was 3rd in a tight men's 21.1km, finishing in 1:06:46, just 13 seconds behind the winner, and Lucky Mohale was 2nd Veteran. The women's 21.1km was just as strong for the club: Mary Njambi Njuguna was 4th in 1:21:35 and Lina Jepkemoi Kaino 5th in 1:22:26. Rosina Jepkoskei Kiboino and Jeannie Henderson took 2nd and 3rd Veteran in 1:29:13 and 1:29:32, Dalene Sonnekus won the W60-69 category in 1:42:24, and Cailyn Abell was 2nd Junior in 1:43:27. Over 10km, Kai Hattingh was 2nd Junior in 43:15.

Balwin Run Series, Jeppe

Shanice Peens was in excellent form in the 21.1km, taking the win in 1:26:36. A day after her Exxaro run, Rosina Jepkoskei Kiboino was 3rd lady and won the W40-49 category in 1:31:35. Over 10km, Bernadene Mcloud was 2nd lady in 42:18 and Tebogo Mokgosinyane 2nd Veteran. On the men's side, Barry Chapman won the M50-59 category in the 21.1km in 1:28:57, and Jovan Marais was 2nd junior in the 10km in 38:38.

Park Square Run Half Marathon, Durban

Benjamin Nyongesa and Victor Lapit put two green vests on the men's podium, finishing 2nd and 3rd in 1:04:57 and 1:05:09, with Nyongesa just three seconds behind the winner. Nonhle Dlamini completed a strong morning for the club with 3rd in the women's race in 1:32:48.

NMB Northern Areas Legacy Project 10km, Gelvandale

Refeloe Solomons and Kelly van Vliet were 2nd and 3rd in the women's race on the hilly Gelvandale course, in 37:32.949 and 37:53.093, and each also won her age category: van Vliet the W35-39 and Solomons the W40-49. Christine Claasen won the W60-69 category in 46:37.354, and Xolile Ndingane was 3rd in the M50-59 category in 36:15.657.

Friends of Pumpkin Athletics Club 10km, East London

Carmen Schaefer and Effe Mayo finished 2nd and 3rd in the W40-49 category, just three seconds apart in 51:21 and 51:24.

Elliot/Madeira Charity Club Marathon

Nokuthula Ntshangase won the women's race, while Siyamthanda Bazana and Nathi Khanyeza were 2nd and 3rd in the men's race in 2:25:33 and 2:27:31.

eMalahleni City Marathon

Promise Msitshana was 2nd over 42.2km in 2:32:31, and Charles Soza was 2nd in the M40-49 category in 2:49:49.

Maroela to Maroela 21.1km, Phalaborwa

Mosa Thuketana won in 1:09:51, more than six minutes clear of the runner-up, and Itumeleng Mahlo was 5th overall and 1st Junior in 1:32:07.

Post Insurance Half Marathon

Peter Pedzisai Chigiya led three Nedbank Running Club Zimbabwe athletes into the top seven, finishing 4th in 1:04:21, with Ngonidzashe Ncube 6th in 1:06:06 and Peter Tauzeni 7th in 1:06:37. In the women's race, Tabitha Tsatsa was 1st Master and 9th overall in 1:45.

Pentagon Pistols Night Race

The Nedbank ByGrace family made a statement under the lights on Friday night. Moleboheng Mohapi won the women's 10km and took 1st Junior Women, with Maryna Swanepoel 2nd overall and 1st Master Women 40+ to complete a Nedbank one-two. In the 5km, Karabo Monyaki took the overall win and 1st Junior Women, and Tshokolo Tolo was 2nd overall. Omphile Letshabo was 2nd in the men's 10km.

Two athletes who ran Comrades for Nedbank Running Club this year lined up against the world's best at the IAU 100km World Championships in Ames, Spain, on 20 September. Alex Milne claimed bronze in 6:17:50, and in doing so broke the English national 100km record that had stood since 2014, held by fellow Nedbank Running Club athlete Steve Way, who won a couple of Comrades gold medals for the club. Olle Meijer finished 9th.

Nedbank ByGrace Running Club Race Day, Thaba Nchu

Put Saturday, 31 October 2026 in the diary. The Nedbank ByGrace Running Club hosts its race day at Thaba Nchu Mmabana Stadium, with the 21.1km starting at 06:00 (R230), the 10km at 06:15 (R190) and the 5km at 06:30 (R100). Temporary licences are R50.

There is prize money for men and women over all three distances. The 21.1km pays R3,000, R2,000 and R1,000 for the top three, with R500 category prizes for Juniors, 40+, 50+ and 60+. The 10km pays R1,500, R1,000 and R750, with R300 category prizes, and the 5km pays R750, R500 and R300, plus R300 for the Junior category. The school with the most entrants will receive R2,000.
