The National Cross Country stage brought out the best in our athletes. Este Van Tonder (AFS) was simply untouchable, breaking the tape to be crowned SA Cross Country Masters Women Champion. Kobie Griffiths (WPA) claimed bronze in the W40-44 category, while Dalene Sonnekus (AGN) finished 2nd in the W60-64, Jackie Frey (CGA) finished runner-up in the W65-69 and Frances van Blerk (AGN) finished 2nd in the W70-74. Dewayne Mouries (WPA) picked up silver in the M35-39 8km, then joined forces with Johan Oerson (WPA) to secure bronze in the M35-39 WPA Team Prize and Riaan Wildschut (WPA) did the same for the M40-44 squad. Impressive results from our Masters and a day the whole club can be proud of.

Tekkie Challenge (Food Lover's Market)

Green vests featured on both podiums here. In the 10km, Fortunate Chidzivo opened her weekend account with a 38:37 clocking, while Adam Clark was first home in the M50-59 category. Elmé Middlemost was the standout over 16km, finishing 1st Veteran and 2nd Open on the day.

Khayelitsha 10km

Twenty-four hours later, Fortunate Chidzivo was at it again - this time winning the Open Ladies race outright in 36:12. Charmaine Cupido kept her fine run of form going with victory in the W70+ category in 57:58, and Roger Simpson made it three green wins on the day, taking the M60-69 title in 39:33.

Brooklyn Road Race

Three distances, four green podiums. Albert Kangor was outstanding over 33km, taking 2nd place overall and winning the M40-49 category in 2:08:17. Kayla Power flew the flag in the 21.1km, finishing 3rd Female overall in 1:35:18. And in the 10km, Kai Hattingh claimed 2nd Junior in 46:06 with Ash Naidoo runner-up in the W50-59 in 55:00.

Leandra 10km

A family affair on the podium once more - Chrizell Roberts was first lady across the line, with her daughter Melinda Roberts taking 2nd Junior. Another mom-and-daughter double for the club.

Madibaz George Forest Run, George

The Nedbank Green Dream Team cleaned up the podiums in the George forest. The 10km belonged entirely to the club: Bruce Maboza first in 31:59, Austin Koopman second in 32:45 and Francois Maquassa third in 33:42 - all three steps in green. The 21.1km told a similar story, with Lloyd Bosman winning in 1:15:27 and Selwyn Matthews following him home in 1:17:10 for a green one-two.

Titaniums Spring Race 10km

Moleboheng Mohapi produced a double, winning both the ladies’ race overall and the Junior category in 42:23. Thabang Mathosa added to the tally with 2nd place in the men's race.

Merewent 15km

Ncedisani Phungula was first man home out of a 218-strong field, stopping the clock at 51:23 to take both the Open title and top spot in the M35-39 category.

Messina Marathon

Tabitha Tsatsa dominated the 21km, crossing the line in 1:40 to claim 1st Overall and 1st Master.

Glacier by Sanlam Half Marathon, East London

Siyabulela Madlavana ran a fine race on home soil, placing 4th overall and winning his 50+ age category in 1:13:52.

University of Botswana Marathon, Botswana

Rosina Jepkoskei Kiboino carried the green across the border, completing the 42km in 3:03:54.

Lekhalong La Baroa (Bushmen's Pass) Annual Run, Lesotho

One of the toughest tests on the calendar, with the route topping out at 2,263m above sea level. Tsepo Mathibelle took 2nd in the Men's 21.1km in 1:25:27. The Women's 21.1km saw Mathabo Mathibelle 2nd in 1:52:45 and Rethabile Kanono 3rd in 2:11:05. Lineo Dimbane was runner-up in the 15km Ladies race in 1:31:39, and Reitumetse Thethana rounded things off with victory in the 10km Ladies race in 50:37.

Both races start behind the Virgin Active Top Level Parking at Cape Gate Lifestyle Centre, with the 10km off at 6:30am and the 5km Fun Run at 7:15am. Enter online at www.entryninja.com.

Numbers can be collected on Friday, 30 October between 16h00 and 19h00, or on race morning between 05h00 and 06h15, both at Cape Gate Lifestyle Centre. There is R1,500 waiting for each Open winner, category prizes across Junior, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+, and Open Team Prizes for the men's and ladies' teams.
