NRC GEORGE | SWD
MCDONALD'S YOUTH DAY 10KM
Nedbank Running Club SWD played host to the McDonald's Youth Day 10km, and it was a green 1-2 finish. Selwyn Matthews claimed the overall victory in 31:10, with clubmate Bruce Maboza securing 2nd overall in 31:45 – a brilliant result for the home club.
NG CHURCH OUTENIQUALAND 13KM
Nedbank athletes dominated the NG Church Outeniqualand 13km, sweeping the overall podium. Lloyd Bosman took the win, Wayne April finished 2nd, and Lerato Maseka completed the clean sweep in 3rd. Carla Spangenberg claimed victory in the women's race, while Eddie Mouton finished 2nd in the 50-59 category and Annatjie Botes took gold in the 60-69 category. A complete green wash from start to finish.
NRC CAPE TOWN | WPA
RCS GUGS 10KM | YOUTH DAY
Nedbank Running Club WPA enjoyed an outstanding morning at the RCS Gugs 10km, claiming the Men's Team Prize through a collective team effort and a string of personal best performances.
Leading the way was Keano Qwili, who finished 2nd overall in an impressive 30:40 PB. Junior athlete Joshua Schouw continued his breakthrough season with a remarkable debut 10km performance of 31:16, finishing 2nd Junior and 4th overall. In the age categories, Charmaine Cupido added another podium finish to the club's tally with 3rd place in the W70-79 division.
The team's outstanding performances secured the Men's Team Prize and highlighted the strength and depth of the Green Team.
SALDANHA 10KM
Boy Makutu claimed gold in the M40-49 category at the Saldanha 10km, adding another age-category victory to the club's growing tally of successes.
CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE 3 | WILLOWBRIDGE GREENBELT
Nedbank Running Club WPA's Masters women once again proved their dominance. Kobie Griffiths claimed victory in the W40-44 category, with Hannelie Lötter taking silver. In the W45-49 division, Anneline Roffey secured gold, Rolandi Schutte silver, and Tanya Posthumus-Fox bronze for a clean podium sweep.
The club's strength extended throughout the age groups. Joshua Schouw won the U17 category, Luke Rudolph took silver in the U14 division, Thabo Solani claimed victory in the U20 category, Riaan Wildschutt won the M40-44 title, and Keano Qwili crossed the line first in the Senior Men's 4km race.

BAYWEST RELAY CHALLENGE
It was a successful Youth Day outing for Nedbank's relay teams in the Bay. Both the men's and women's teams secured 2nd-place finishes, showcasing excellent teamwork and depth across the club.

CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE 4 | SOWETO
The Nedbank Soweto Development Team's youngsters and seniors produced another impressive display at CGA Cross Country League 4. Kganya Mphelane continued his winning streak with victory in the Boys U8 1km, while Bontle Mathole claimed 3rd place in the Girls U10 2km.
In the senior races, Griffiths Manyedi took top honours in the Senior Men's 2km. Emmanuel Makhonke secured silver in the Junior Men's 8km, while Kate van Jaarsveld finished 2nd in the Women's 35+ 4km race.
NRC GAUTENG NORTH
AGN INTERPROVINCIAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS | PRETORIA
Nedbank Running Club Gauteng North delivered an outstanding performance at the AGN Interprovincial Cross Country Championships in Pretoria.
Frances van Blerk and Dalene Sonnekus both claimed gold in the Women 70+ and Women 60+ categories respectively, while Jackie Frey added another gold medal in the Women 65-69 division. Ingrid Koster secured silver in the Women 50 category and Thabang Madiba earned silver in the Men 40 category, highlighting the club's strength across the masters ranks.
SOSHANGUVE GREAT RUN 10KM
Silvester Kipsang stormed home for 2nd overall in 30:29. Thomas Esito Ekiru finished 5th overall and claimed the Veteran title in 32:09, while Albert Kangor crossed the line in 6th overall and secured 2nd Veteran in 32:17. Another strong road-running performance from the Green Team in Gauteng.
NRC ZIMBABWE
SIR SERETSE KHAMA DAY MARATHON | BOTSWANA
Nedbank Running Club Zimbabwe produced one of the performances of the season at the Sir Seretse Khama Day Marathon, sweeping the overall podium in dominant fashion.
Owen Slowly claimed victory in 2:17:11, Israel Mudimba finished 2nd in 2:18:50, and Prosper Mutwira completed the clean sweep in 3rd with a time of 2:20:09.

TSHIAMO MOTSAMAI HEADS TO THE USA
Huge congratulations to Tshiamo Motsamai on being named to the South African Provisional Squad for the World Athletics U20 Championships in the USA.
Tshiamo earned selection after winning the ASA U20 Long Jump title with an impressive leap of 7.62m. The entire Green Team will be cheering him on as he takes on the world stage.
KAI HATTINGH ON MORNING SPORT
Nedbank Running Club's Kai Hattingh represented the Green Team on national television this week with an appearance on Morning Sport. A proud moment for Kai and a reminder that the future of Nedbank Running Club continues to shine brightly.

NRC LIMPOPO SPRING OPENER
The Nedbank Running Club Limpopo Spring Opener returns on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at Unicorn Preparatory School in Tzaneen. Athletes can look forward to a half marathon, 10km race and a 5km family fun run.
