The Nedbank Running Club enjoyed another highly successful weekend of racing as our athletes delivered strong performances across multiple distances and disciplines. From senior podium finishes on the road to the development of our junior ranks in local mile events, the club’s runners consistently executed competitive performances across the country.

Half Marathon Rocky Nice & Easy

The club's representation at the Rocky Nice & Easy event yielded a top finish in the 10km distance, with Alex Aphane crossing the finish line in first place with a time of 00:32:29.

KHS Third Annual Founders Half Marathon

In the women's 21.1km race, Likeleli Majara finished in second place overall, which placed her sixth in the combined gender standings, with a time of 01:15:52. Anna Moeketsi also secured a top-ten finish, crossing the line in sixth place in 01:29:18. In the men's 10km division, junior runner AJ Sabbat recorded a time of 01:12:07 to finish in tenth place in the open men's category and first place in the junior division.

Quatro Road Race

The Quatro Road Race saw strong participation and multiple podium placements from the club's athletes. In the women's 21km race, Taryn Snyman secured a third-place finish with a time of 01:30:11.

The 10km event produced solid field depth. In the men's division, Sekgwane Moloele crossed the line in eighth place with a time of 00:40:11. The women's race saw a compact finish from the Nedbank squad, led by Dalene Sonnekus in fourth place with a time of 00:44:16. She was followed closely by Kai Hattingh in fifth place in 00:44:51, while Liesel-Mari Fritz rounded out the top performance list in eighth place with a time of 00:45:55.

Olympia Celebratory 10km Run

The men's field delivered dominant results at the Olympia Celebratory 10km Run, locking down multiple top positions. Lloyd Bosman won the event, taking first place with a sub-30-minute time of 29:58. Selwyn Matthews followed to secure second place on the podium in 31:00, while Wayne April finished in fifth place with a time of 32:00.

Easterns 15km Road Race

The club's female athletes controlled the front of the field at the Easterns 15km Road Race. Elmé Middlemost won the event outright, taking first place with a time of 01:00:06.3. Hannelie Lotter joined her on the podium by securing third place in 01:03:38.7, followed immediately by Tanya Posthumus-Fox, who finished in fourth place with a time of 01:03:44.7.

Nedbank and Emerald Casino Green Mile

The Green Mile event provided an excellent platform for the club's development and junior athletes across several age categories.

  • Sub-Youth Category: In the male division, Franna van der Westhuizen took first place in 00:04:52, with Stiaan Austin finishing in second place in 00:05:00. In the female division, Emma de Clercq won the race in first place with a time of 00:05:08, while Kayleigh Jansen van Vuren took third place in 00:05:20.
  • Youth Category: Megan Waller led the women's category to finish in first place with a time of 00:04:56, closely followed by Miane de Clercq, who earned second place in 01:05:12.
  • Junior Category: In the men's division, Lehlohonolo Hlakane secured a podium spot by finishing in third place with a time of 00:04:28. In the women's division, Selna van As claimed first place, recording a final time of 00:05:06.
