The Mpumalanga Marathon on September 14, 2024, is set to be a spectacular event, welcoming athletes from Mozambique, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Namibia, Ethiopia, Canada, and Portugal. This international celebration of endurance and unity will be highlighted by the participation of runners in the 10km, 21.1km, and 42.2km races, each receiving special recognition for their efforts.
Every runner, regardless of the race distance, will receive a t-shirt and a goody bag, ensuring they have a lasting memento of their participation in this prestigious event. In addition, the medals awarded are nothing short of spectacular, honoring South Africa’s cultural heritage. The marathon will pay tribute to the renowned artist Dr. Esther Mahlangu, with each medal featuring a ribbon that is a unique piece of artwork. This beautifully designed ribbon will hang around each runner's neck, symbolizing both achievement and cultural pride.

In the spirit of giving back, the QueenMo Foundation will be collecting shoes from runners at the finish line to donate to underprivileged athletes, encouraging everyone to contribute to a worthy cause. The race will also feature 17 pacers to help participants meet their timing goals, and race pack collections will be held at Riverside Mall, where an expo will showcase various vendors and running-related services.
The finish line will be the heart of a vibrant festival, featuring live performances from artists, food stalls, children’s entertainment, and a variety of other stalls. Runners will also receive race pack booklets, containing important information such as aerial views of the marathon route and bus collection points.
