Shaun demonstrates a lot of “Horsepower”

He is very visible at virtually every road race in Gauteng and Gauteng North every weekend manning the Nedbank Running Club Tent. His name is Shaun Horsepower and in 2015 he lived up to his name by demonstrating a fair bit of “horsepower” to clock up 2283.32km in one year and finish 6th in the country in the annual 1000km Challenge.
2015 saw the 25th annual running of the 1000km Challenge organised by Tobie and Elaine Reynecke.

Shaun has won his 4th medal in this event since 2012, 2 Gold, and 2 Silver. According to Richard O’Brian, “"Running is not, as it so often seems, only about what you did in your last race or about how many miles you ran last week. It is, in a much more important way, about community, about appreciating all the miles run by other runners, too.”
Shaun Horsepower makes this quote a reality in his daily life and all the races that he runs in.

Shaun has raised tens thousands of Rands for various charities with his exploits over the years. For 2015 his focus was the Sunflower Fund and part of his “adventures” included the Mount Everest Stair Challenge alongside Sibusiso Vilane (the first African Male to summit Moutn Everest.

He also receivedt the “Charity Warrior” award for his huge contribution to charity. Shaun’s passion is to raise funds for several Charity organizations tt benefit children with cancer.
