This passing weekend Nedbank Soweto Development athletes represented Central Gauteng in the South African Championships that were held in Bloemfontein.

The athletes wore their Provincial colours with pride. Out of the 9 Development athletes that participated 7 medals were won by the athletes. Tumisang Monnatlala won 2 gold medals on 3000m Steeplechase and 5000m Men U/23.

Liza Kellerman also won 2 medals, a silver in 1500m and gold in 800m youth girls. In the process, she qualified for the World Youth Champs to be held in Colombia.

Udelle De Winnaar was 1st in 10000m Walk Juniors. Thato Masimi won silver in 800m Junior Boys and Tshepo Majwafi won a bronze in 10000m U23 Men. This shows the depth we have in our development squad.

This coming weekend 16 of our Seniors will participate in South African Track and field Champs to be held in Stellebosch-Western Cape in hope to emulate the performance of the Juniors.
