Nedbank Running Club Vaal Triangle clubhouse at Kollege Park Primary school (Glanville street) Vanderbilpark

Welcome to all members. A special welcome to all new members who joined our club for the first time. We wish you all a winning experience with a winning club in the Vaal Triangle. Please feel free to contact any of the club management if needed.

Please still adhere to all safety regulations regarding Covid-19. Please be responsible when participating in events for your own and other participant’s sake’s.

Gerda Pretorius handles all club related enquiries as well as the selling of the running gear. Gerda’s contact number is 072 209 9906. She will be available at the clubhouse on Tuesday’s from 17:00.

Club person for the month

Club person for May ’22 is Tsietsi Mokoena for his performances on the road in 2022.

Well done Tsietsi! You are showing the younger athletes how to perform.

Club person for June ’22 is marli Dimond for her inclusion and participation in the CAA senior championships which was held in Mauritius.

Time Trials

Weekly time trials start every Tuesday at 17:15 from the Clubhouse.

 Rules for winning the monthly price:

  • Competition is open to only Nedbank club members
  • Available distances you can choose from is  2,4,6 or 8 kilometers
  • Athletes have to compete in at least three (3) time trials during the specific month to be eligible for the price
  • The winner of the price will be determined by a lucky draw if there are more than one athlete who have completed the three (3) time trials
  • The winner will be decided on the last time trial for the month and therefore have to be present when the draw takes place. The monthly winner will be rewarded with a gift voucher. Photo of the winner with his/her price will be taken and published in the next edition of the monthly Nedbank Vanderbijlpark newsletter
  • It will be great if members wear Nedbank clothing on the last time trial for the month as we want to take the photo of the winner wearing  Nedbank clothing

Time Trial winners

The winner for May ’22 was Mieke Smit. She is the first junior athlete who is the winner of the monthly price. We really hope that this will inspire more of our younger athletes to participate in the time trials on a regular basis.

Road Running Commission

The Road Running season is in full swing now with events being held all over the country. If you were a podium winner, we urge you to provide Joggie van der Sandt with the information. If possible please provide us with a photo of yourself in Nedbank gear. We want to share your achievements with all our members in the monthly newsletters.

We are currently busy planning our next Nedbank fun run series for 2022 and will keep all our members updated. We promise that it will be something special.

 

ASA Half Marathon championships Gqeberha – 4 June ‘22

Results of Tsietsi Mokoena from Nedbank Running Club Vanderbijlpark who represented the Province (AVT) in the championships:

  • Provincial Bronze medal in the age group 50-59

  • SAMA Silver medal in the age group 50-54

  • The 2022 leagues start on Saturday the 7th of May ’22

  • Nedbank will pay the R 20 entry fee for all leagues and AVT championships

 

  • 2022 ASA license have to be wear on your Nedbank clothing

 

  • Please ensure that you fill out your race sticker thoroughly

 

  • The first race starts at 12:00. Please ensure that you are there approximately 30 minutes before the start of your race

 

  • Venues can change due to availability of the venue. Make sure that the venue is still the same as advertised
