Time Trials

Weekly time trials start every Tuesday at 17:15 from the Clubhouse.

Rules for winning the monthly price:

  • Competition is open to only Nedbank club members
  • Available distances you can choose from is  2,4,6 or 8 kilometers
  • Athletes have to compete in at least three (3) time trials during the specific month to be eligible for the price
  • The winner of the price will be determined by a lucky draw if there are more than one athlete who have completed the three (3) time trials
  • The winner will be decided on the last time trial for the month and therefore have to be present when the draw takes place. The monthly winner will be rewarded with a gift voucher. Photo of the winner with his/her price will be taken and published in the next edition of the monthly Nedbank Vanderbijlpark newsletter
  • It will be great if members wear Nedbank clothing on the last time trial for the month as we want to take the photo of the winner wearing  Nedbank clothing

Time Trial winners

There was no winner for April’22. The reason why is that the maximum number of three (3) time trials during the month, to be eligible to win the price, was not met by participants.

Road Running Commission

The Road Running season is in full swing now with events being held all over the country. If you were a podium winner, we urge you to provide Joggie van der Sandt with the information. If possible please provide us with a photo of yourself in Nedbank gear. We want to share your achievements with all our members in the monthly newsletters.

We are currently busy planning our next Nedbank fun run series for 2022 and will keep all our members updated. We promise that it will be something special.

Results from the championships

This event was really fantastic because it gave our athletes that did not well individually, the opportunity to shine. Our athletes competed wherever we asked them to. Some were put out of their comfort zones and still did well. Athletes who were at this meeting are passionate about athletics because they chose Athletics over winter sports. Unfortunately we had no senior relays.

In the combined events, our athletes excelled, but we had only 3 athletes from the province. There is however a plan to try and encourage more athletes to participate in the combined events.

Athletics Vaal Triangle ended in 6th position overall with 7 medals obtained. There were 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
