Road Running

Great news for the road running fraternity is that at this stage there will be a Two Oceans and a Comrades marathon in 2022. This means that quite a number of road races will be hosted in 2022 and that is surely something that all our road runners are longing for. Now is the time to start training again and to get ready for 2022.

We are currently busy planning our next Nedbank fun run series for 2022 and will keep all our members updated. We promise that it will be something special.

One of our members, Johnny Jansen van Rensburg participated in the Sani Pass marathon on Saturday the 20th of November ’21 and he said that it was, although tough conditions, an awesome experience to run again in a real race. He sent the following pictures of his experience. To all our members, please keep on sending pictures when you experience the thrill of running in a proper road race again.

Track & Field

Results of the inter-provincial event in Germiston will be shared with you in our next newsletter.

This is however only a temporary setback and we know he will be back soon to amaze us with his talent. We want to wish Julienne all of the best in the Long Jump and we know you will make us all proud. Please send us some pictures of you wearing your Protea colors with pride!

One of our members Sabata Kumalo, who is also the President of Athletics Vaal Triangle, will accompany the Athletics team to the games as an official.
