Time Trials (Real and Virtual)

The real time trials at the clubhouse will start from Tuesday the 27th of April @ 17:15. This is because of the winter months when it is getting dark earlier. The safety of our members is very important to us and that is the reason why we start earlier during these winter months. Note All Covid-19 protocols have to be met, no mask no entry. Sanitizing of hands, screening will be done (health questionnaire to be completed and temperature will be taken before entering). No refreshments will be available after the time trial, please bring your own refreshments.

All participants in both the real and virtual time trials are eligible to win the price.

You can complete your time trial at your convenience on any day from the Wednesday to the following Tuesday. For example the time trial for the current week started from Wednesday the 19th of May and will end on Tuesday the 25th of May ’21. The next cycle will start then from Wednesday the 26th of May ’21 and will end on Tuesday the 1st of June ‘21

Members now have the choice to participate in the time trials, either at the clubhouse or virtually. After completion of your virtual time trial you are requested to send your result in as soon as possible. Please note that all participants, in either the time trial at the clubhouse or virtually, will have the chance to win the monthly gift voucher. Please make sure what the rules are for winning the gift voucher as set out later in this newsletter. We really want to encourage all our members to take part and to test your fitness level on a weekly basis.

Virtual Time Trial winner – March and April 2021

The winner for April ’21 was Robin Ballentine and he completed all 4 time trials for April ‘21

Congratulations to our winners and we urge all our members to compete for the monthly price.

Guidelines to determine monthly winners

The following guidelines will be used to determine the monthly winner for the gift voucher for time trials. This is done to give all participants a fair chance of winning the monthly gift voucher for the time trials:

  • Previous winners of the gift voucher are eliminated for the rest of the time trials for the rest of the season. You can still run your time trial on a weekly basis and your times will still be recorded. Please keep on sending your weekly results
  • If you completed the most time trials for the specific month, you will be the outright winner of the gift voucher, except when you were a previous winner
  • If there is more than one participant with equal number of time trials, the winner will be decided on a lucky draw basis. If there was for example two or more participants with an equal number of time trials for the specific month, the winner will be decided between the participants who have completed the most time trials during that month. In practice it means that if there were two or more participants with four runs each and two or more participants with three runs, the winner will be decided between the participants who completed the four runs. The rule to qualify is that you have to complete three or more run’s for the month.

Thank you to all participants during the April ’21 time trials and we wish everyone the best of luck in winning the May ’21 price.
