May 2021 Newsletter

It is great to see all our Club Members taking part in our Thursday Time Trials at the Club and on STRAVA.  Although road races are not back yet, Track & Field and Cross Country races started already.

Congratulations to all our Athletes that did so well at the Track & Field events and the Cross Country Events.  We have quite a few star athletes and very proud of them all.

CONGRATULATIONS to Marione Fourie that has been chosen for the World Team to run in Kenya during August.

CONGRATULATIONS to Enoch Skosana who was nominated for a position on the ASA Board in Road Running Position.  You make us proud!

Please keep an eye on Social Media to watch this amazing event that will take place on Sunday 23 May and send all your virtual cheers to all the Invited Athletes that will take part.  Good luck to all our Elite Athletes.  Well done to Nick Bester for this amazing initiative and we know this will be a great success. 

13 June 2021: Comrades 21 KM Run

Please remember to join us on our 21km race that will start at 7am.  For only R50 that we will host at CBC Old Boys Club.  Entry fee is required before 3 June to secure your spot.  No late entries will be allowed.

Everyone is welcome, even if you did not enter Comrades Marathon Virtual run.  All our Sponsors will support us with drinks at our water points and spot prizes will be given out.  Bruce Fordyce will be there to promote his book Winged Messenger and this will also be for sale.  You will receive a boerewors roll afterwards and part of your entry fee will go to Bramley Children’s Home for their assistance.

Let’s make this a memorable event for all.  If you are not running, let us know if you can assist on the day.  Strict COVID 19 protocols will be adhered to on the day.

2121 LICENSES HAS ARRIVED

Please collect your 2021 ASA license on Thursday from 16H00 to 18H30 at the Club for those who have renewed their membership.  If you have not renewed yet, please bring R450 and your 2021 ASA Form and renew your membership.  This is important to be able to run Virtual Races and upcoming races that is starting up again.
