Feedback from the South African Masters Track & Field Championship 2019

We are very proud to announce and congratulate the Nedbank Vaal Running Club Masters athletes who perform to a very high standard. The club produce the following medals:

Elmarie Walters – 100m – Silver medal

Elmarie Walters – 200m – Gold medal

Snyman Prinsloo – 100m – Bronze medal

Mariska Prinsloo – Long Jump – Silver medal

This career path below is exactly how most of our athletes started to get involve as masters athletes, previously called veterans.

The Masters Athletics career of Elmarie  Walters

I am a dedicated 35-year-old masters athlete.  I have a passion for Athletics.  Three years ago, a friend invited me to join their training group.  I just joined for fun and never thought I would get as addicted as I am today.  I have been training since.

Last year I achieved a Personal best on the 200m - 27.06 sec (age grading, 81.30%) at the Free State Masters Athletics Championships in Bloemfontein.  My second-best time on the 200m - 27.07 sec (age grading, 81.27%) I ran this year on 13 April 2019 at the Central Gauteng Masters Athletics Championships held at Germiston stadium.  I have also won the gold medal at the South African Masters Athletics Championships for the 200m W 35-40, that was held on 4 May 2019 in Oudtshoorn.

My dream is to compete in 2020 at the World Masters Athletics Championship in Toronto, Canada next year.

It is awesome to still compete at the age of 35, mom of two beautiful daughters which motivates and cheers me on at every race.

All glory to GOD for this tremendous privilege!

ASA Senior Championships 2019 at Germiston (Ehkuruleni) from 25/04/2019 to 27/04/2019

Final Men U20 (Junior) Decathlon Results

2nd place Divan Grobler

It was a very difficult decathlon as it rained on the first day and then a power failure, so Divan had to do 7 events on day two. Divan enjoyed it very much and cannot wait for the next opportunity to compete. Thanks to Vaal and Nedbank athletics. Congratulations Divan, you make us all proud.
