Nedbank Green Dream Team athletes once again made their mark across South Africa

Our Nedbank Green Dream Team athletes once again made their mark across South Africa this past weekend, with strong performances and podium finishes at races nationwide. Here’s how our runners performed:

Lekgothwane Holdings Half Marathon saw our team shine in the 21km event. Thabang Masihleho showed the field he was the one to watch, claiming 1st place in a time of 1:05:54, showcasing his impressive form. On the women’s side, Monique Smit delivered a strong performance as well, securing 2nd place in 1:34:08.

In the CUT Alumni Half Marathon, Chabeli Nyedimane took 1st place in the veterans in a time of 1:09:01. Sarah Makhobolo was the 1st junior home in 1:43:37. Thabang Mathosa was 1st over the line in the 10km in a time of 32:55, with Dikeledi Majara the woman’s winner. The Nedbank running Club juniors, Kamohele Ngqikaza and Dineo Dithakono also taking the victories in the 10km junior categories

At the LetsGo Potch 42km, Rebecca Nakuwa claimed 2nd overall and was crowned 1st veteran, finishing in an excellent 3:06. Meanwhile, Florence Kemunto Nyaingiri dominated the 21km, taking 1st place in a time of 1:11:08.

Mamananya Mamosa impressed with a 2nd place finish in the women’s 21km at Michelle’s Pass 21km.

Tembisa 10km (Incorporating the CGA Championships)

Our Nedbank athletes shone at the CGA 10km Championships in Tembisa:

  • Samantha Coetzer – 1st in the CGA Open Category Championship, and 5th overall lady
  • Tebogo Mokgosinyane – 2nd in the Open Category, 1st in the 40–49 CGA Championship, 2nd in the 40–49 Category, and 8th overall lady
  • Elizabeth Chemweno – 1st veteran
  • Lucky Mohale – 1st veteran (men)
  • Kai Hattingh – 2nd junior

Congratulations to Victor Lapit for taking top spot, winning the half-marathon in a time of 1:08:28 at the Sapphire Coast Half Marathon.

At the Don Lock 15km, Deanne Laubscher claimed 3rd place finish in 57:29, wrapping up another stellar weekend for our club athletes.

Ezna Flattery took 1st place in the grand master category with Dalene Sonnekus in 2nd at the Irene Farm 11km Race
