Agn Interim Board Update

The Interim Board held its first meeting on 17/11/2009 and we would like to share the following with all the clubs.

Athletics Gauteng North must carry on business as usual and our current turmoil should not hamper any
athletics event that has been arranged with the exception of the Athlete's Prestige Awards.

There is a Track and Field event taking place this Saturday at Pilditch and all the arrangements have been
made, months in advance, by the Track and Field Commission, and from a functional point of view, there is
no purpose in stopping or changing any well organised event. The interim board have accepted positions in
a bid to assist and not to take over any upcoming event.

For ease of reference, the three basic divisions were divided as follows:
Cross Country: Maidi Mogashoa (083 431 4100)
Track and Field: James Mokoka (078 169 4643)
Road Running: Karin van der Walt (082 940 9511)
Oversee /assist with all projects, technical issues and events:
Chairperson: Daan du Toit (082 572 4169)

Election In Early 2010:
Our financial year runs from 1 January to 31 December every year, so it is in everyone's best interest to have
our election as early as possible in the new year. The date of 30/1/2010 was chosen, as it will give us
enough time to submit nominations and prepare for the election.

Athlete's Prestige Awards:
Once our new board has been voted into office on the January 30th 2010, the Athlete's Prestige Awards
Ceremony is an excellent platform to introduce our new board members to the media. February 6th 2010
has been reserved for the 2009 Athlete's Prestige Awards.

The following email dated 23 Nov. was also received:
Please be informed that James Mokoka has been appointed to serve on the ASA interim board.
