Nedbank Running Club enters six previous Comrades winners in this year's race.

The Nedbank Running Club will be represented by 480 athletes from across the country including no fewer than six previous Comrades winners.

Leading the illustrious group is the undisputed king of Comrades, Bruce Fordyce with nine Comrades wins under his belt. Defending champion, Leonid Shetshov and fellow Russian Oleg Kharitonov will join Fordyce at the starting line.

On the woman's front, two South African champions in Francis Van Blerk, winner in  1992 and Rae Bischoff, winner in 1998 will be joined by another woman's winner, Tatyana Zhirkova, who won the race in 2005 in the second fastest time ever for the down run.

The impressive team will be ably managed by two former Comrades winners in Nick Bester (1991) and Andrew Kelehe (2001) who are heavily involved in the administration and coaching of the Nedbank Running Club athletes for this year's Ultimate Human Race.

It is good to see that Nedbank Running Club can boast with 500 runners in this years Comrades Marathon.

We want to wish every Nedbank Comrades runner the best of luck on race day and remember to focus on your mental preparations this last week. All hard running work have been done and any strenuous exercises now will just make you slower on race day.

Regards

Nick Bester-National Manager of the Nedbank Running Clubs
