Nedbank Running Club Athletes Dominates the Soweto Marathon
November 4, 2019
On Sunday 3 November 2019, the 26th Soweto Marathon successfully hosted 40 000 runners from far and wide across the three distances of 42.2km, 21.1km and 10km.

South Africa’s biggest one day road running event started and finished at FNB Stadium on another scorching Summer Sunday. It was Nedbank Running Club who bagged the majority of the honours, taking first and second in the men’s marathon as well as 1 through 6 in the women’s 42.2km.

Soweto Marathon Trust Chairman Sello Khunou says he’s delighted with another successful People’s Race;

“Once again the Soweto Marathon team came together to deliver a fantastic day, celebrating all that is great about South Africa. Spirits were certainly high post the Springboks Rugby World Cup victory, and I trust that this race did not disappoint. A huge thank you to all the runners who ‘laced up and conquered their hard’ as well as those who supported!”
