Great news!! Entries for The 2017 Old Mutual Om Die Dam Ultra and Half Marathon are now open! The event will take place on Saturday, 18 March 2017. The Hartebeespoort Dam makes for a stunning backdrop to this great ultra-marathon. Arguably, The Old Mutual Om Die Dam Ultra is one of SA's finest Ultra Marathons and entries were fully subscribed last year, so don’t miss out! Remember the Ultra Marathon (50km) and the half marathon are pre-entry only.

NEW VENUE

We are thrilled to announce that the event will now start and finish right next to the dam. Many entrants have commented that they do not see enough of the Dam and therefor we have made the move to the banks of the dam. We believe this will also provide for an even better atmosphere along the finish line!

A little on the route - starting with a run through the tunnel and then over the dam wall shortly after the start is great, but save your energy! First up is the climb to Commando Nek. After crossing the dam bridge, accompanied by a dramatic sunrise reflecting off the water, comes the climb through Broederstroom, past Pelindaba, with plenty of cold refreshments on offer to keep you moving! Then comes the big one, the climb up Saartjies Nek, a punishing 2km monster of a hill. The view at the top though, makes the climb worthwhile!
