CMA thanks outgoing Board Members
October 31, 2016
As the freshly appointed Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) Chairperson, Sifiso Nzuza settles into his new position, the CMA has issued a huge vote of thanks to the Association’s outgoing Board members.
Last week’s Annual General Meeting saw five members being elected for the forthcoming term of office: Celi Makhoba, Steve Mkasi, Mqondisi Ngcobo, Sifiso Nzuza and Morgan Pillay.

The two co-opted members were Cheryl Winn who has been elected to the position of Vice Chairperson and Zinhle Sokhela. These individuals will serve on the Board together with the remaining members: Craig Dennill, Alen Hattingh, Isaac Ngwenya and Adrian Stowell.

Nzuza says, “On behalf of the CMA Board, I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to our outgoing Board members Macdonald Chitja, Dave Dixon and Jeff Minnaar. These are all outstanding individuals who have contributed immensely to the daily affairs of the Association.”

“All of these three men have served as Chairpersons of the Association at various times in the CMA’s rich history and the Comrades Marathon is in a stronger and better position because of it. We are indeed very grateful to them all.”
Nzuza adds, “The CMA would further like to thank the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) for overseeing the entire electoral procedure and ensuring a smooth and effective voting process.”

Nzuza concludes, “The Board’s main function is to develop the Association’s strategic policies whilst maintaining an effective and sustainable institution which holds true to its ethos and traditions. We look forward to working with all of our stakeholders in taking our iconic race to new heights.”
