Final week for 2017 Comrades Early Bird Entries
September 28, 2016
The final week for South African runners to take advantage of the 2017 Comrades Marathon Early Bird entry fee is upon us.
The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has announced that the reduced fee of R420 will only be valid until Friday, 30 September 2016.

The regular price of R460 will come into effect as of 1 October 2016 until the entry process is closed on 30 November 2016 or as soon as the 20,000 entry cap has been reached. So far, entries stand at nearly 8600. View the entry barometer at www.comrades.com for an updated entry count.

In line with its Runners First Initiative, the CMA has some exciting plans in place to cater for its athletes and to make the 2017 Comrades Marathon finish that much more achievable.

CMA Race Director, Rowyn James says, “With the high percentage of novice entrants for the 2017 Comrades Marathon, the CMA has scheduled a range of roadshows and novice seminars in partnership with major sponsor, Bonitas. These are intended to lend greater support to all Comrades runners, especially the first-timers who will greatly benefit from these initiatives.”

James adds, “We also urge our runners to heed the advice of the Official Comrades Coach, Lindsey Parry. The training programmes have been devised specifically for our Comrades runners and may be accessed through our website www.comrades.com.”

Entry fees for the 2017 Comrades Marathon are as follows:
• Local Entries            : R 460.00
• Rest of Africa           : R 770.00
• International           : R2650.00
